nettle tea (infusion)

This very prickly plant is one we all recognise from our gardens or walks in the countryside. Despite it's apparent unfriendliness, the stinging nettle has in fact a wonderful healing plant, and has a multiple of beneficial uses as a herbal remedy. Nettles can be used either in the form of tea infusion or tincture. Nettle tea bags can be bought very easily in most health stores and supermarkets, but a nettle tea infusion can be made easily with freshly picked leaves. On a nice day, take a walk, armed with a pair of rubber gloves, a carrier bag and a pair of scissors and pick some fresh leaves (young fresh leaves are best). (Why not pick a big bag full - nettles make a wonderful tonic soup. Find a Nettle Soup recipe here).
